Social Justice Co-op NL: Poetry & Activism with El Jones
Join SJCNL for an evening of performance and discussion with legendary poet and activist El Jones!
El Jones’ work carefully outlines the brutalities of a racist, capitalist economy and with surgical precision cuts through to the heart of oppression. By unveiling the harms faced particularly by Black Canadians and more broadly by all who face marginalization on this land, she helps us envision what change is needed to build communities of care.
El Jones, PhD, is an acclaimed poet, journalist, professor, and activist living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her work focuses on social justice issues such as feminism, prison abolition, anti-racism, and decolonization.
