We are looking for up to six enthusiastic creatives to join our team!

Established in 1984, Eastern Edge is committed to exhibiting contemporary Canadian and international art, as well as encouraging dedicated and rigorous activity locally. In providing an alternative venue where artists have greater control over how their work is represented, Eastern Edge facilitates critical dialogue concerning issues in contemporary art and society, actively encouraging emerging and established artists whose work speaks to feminist, multicultural, queer, and other diverse perspectives. Eastern Edge aims to provide a supportive space to develop skills, share information and resources, foster community and create a meaningful context for artistic activity.

Job Descriptions:

 

Operations Manager (Full Job Description)
One year position, salaried at $35,000-$40,000

The Operations Manager (OM) reports to the Executive Director and oversees the day-to-day work of the other team members. The OM has a regular operational relationship with staff, students, artist in residence, volunteers and the Board of Directors. The OM is accountable for all programming in the space throughout the year including but not limited to logistics, weekly and monthly planning, ensuring that all installations and striking of exhibitions, shipping and receiving of artwork, gallery maintenance, documentation, event coordination and communications are conducted according to approved funding and professional standards.

 

Presentation and Event Coordinator (Full Job Description)
One year position, salaried at $35,000

The Presentation and Event Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager and is accountable for the coordination, organization and delivery of all events, exhibitions, presentations and programming in the main and rOGUE galleries and other areas in the Eastern Edge space. Accountable for working with the other members of Eastern Edge team to ensure that all events, presentations and programming are developed and delivered in a professional, effective and efficient manner. That all communications, documentation, displays and exhibitions adhere to policies, procedures and standards of the organization.

 

Presentation, Event and Gallery Assistant (Full Job Description)
Temporary 8 week position, $19/ hour

The Presentation, Event and Gallery Assistant reports to the Presentation and Event Coordinator and is accountable for assisting in the organization and delivery of events, exhibitions, presentations and programming in the main and rOGUE galleries as well as the other areas in the Eastern Edge space. Assisting in installation, maintenance and take-down of all exhibitions in the main and rOGUE galleries, daily cleaning and maintenance of the public areas, Gallery attendant during regular opening hours, and assisting with the storage and inventory of equipment and supplies.

 

Outreach and Communications Coordinator (Full Job Description)
10-12 month position, salaried at $30,000-$35,000

The Outreach and Communications Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager and is accountable for preparing and distributing all communications and social media material, updating and managing the website and social media pages as well as ensuring all print and digital publications are produced according to the professional and Branding standards of the organization. The Outreach and Communications Coordinator is also accountable for the training and coordination of all volunteers, members and member services. And for the coordination and organization of all fundraising events and activities for Eastern Edge.

 

Residency and Digital Coordinator (Full Job Description)
One year position, salaried at $35,000

The Residency and Digital Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager and is accountable for coordinating, organizing and delivery of the ongoing artist in residence program as well as the new upcoming digital residency program. Is accountable for working as part of the Eastern Edge team to coordinate the development and delivery of training, workshops and presentations that are to be made available to members as well as the general public. For documenting, communicating and ensuring the material is developed and distributed in an accessible manner.

 

HOLD FAST Festival Coordinator (Full Job Description)
4 month position, $19/ hour

The HOLD FAST Festival Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager and is accountable for the coordination, organization and delivery of all events, exhibitions, presentations and programming for the 2022 HOLD FAST Festival. That all communications, documentation, displays and exhibitions adhere to policies, procedures and standards of the organization.
