ABOUT THE BOOK
‘estrogenesis’ is the debut full length collection by queer and trans poet Violet Drake. It chronicles her coming of age story from fragmented child to whole adult. Themes explored throughout include identity and autonomy, trauma and recovery, intimacy and embodiment, hope and grief, as well as authenticity and community. Her words are for anyone who has ever felt like an outsider, marginalized, too queer or trans, constricted by rurality, and/or at odds with themselves. It is a treatise of truth, by a woman who is writing herself into the history of this place here at the Atlantic edge.
