Building a Village Fundraiser December 15
Artist Pam Hall has generously donated 300 houses from her project Building a Village to the Mary MacDonald foundation for a fundraiser.
Inviting participants to mark and manipulate a small folding paper house and then return it to her through the mail, Hall sent out over 400 paper houses to countries all over the world. Slowly and sweetly, the houses arrived back in Newfoundland, where they were folded into form by the artist.
Houses arrived from California and the United Kingdom, from Vancouver and St. John’s, from New York City and from Montreal. The entire village was shared at The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery in St. John’s in the summer of 2014.
If you are in St. John’s come out on December 15th for our fun house draw, tickets are $20 each or 3 for $50.
Each ticket entitles you to a unique house to take home and a template for a DIY house of your own. You can purchase your tickets here or on the night.
If you purchase your tickets online and spend more than $25 you will receive a charitable receipt via email. (No receipts will be issued for tickets bought a the gallery on event night.)
If you live outside of St. John’s or cannot make the event on December 15 you can still take part in this fun fundraiser for Mary!
