City of St. John’s Applause Awards: Tourism Excellence Award for HOLD FAST Festival!
On April 17th, the staff at Eastern Edge were honoured to accept a City of St. John’s Applause Award for Tourism Excellence on behalf of HOLD FAST Contemporary Arts Festival!!
This year marks 25 years of HOLD FAST (formerly the 24 Hour Art Marathon & the Art Marathon Festival), and 40 years of Eastern Edge. We are beyond grateful to all the incredible artists, staff, volunteers & community partners whose shoulders we stand on. This award is truly a celebration of our amazing community.
In addition to our current staff, we want to recognize Mal, Shireen & Rachel who were with us for last summer’s festival. Thank you for all your hard work on HF 2023! Special thanks to our photographers Ethel Brown and Shireen Merchant, whose work made it into the awards slideshow. And a big shoutout to Luca Jesse Apel, whose “Mother Nature” performance was featured, alongside a shot of Fishing for Success’ “Big Gay Boat”!
This year’s HOLD FAST festival dates are August 20-24, 2024. As always, our programming will be entirely free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
