Conversation Circle | “Walking” by Cristina Moretti

Online Event

Friday, May 22, 2020. 7:00 – 8:30 PM

Do you ever get the feeling that the ground beneath your feet has shifted? Have you ever had a sudden realization that you have passed through some invisible barrier, or had a sneaking suspicion that the lines and the fences that parcel up the world are somehow artificial, or unfair? Space – public, private, et cetera – is complicated and contested. Join us, Friday, May 22nd, for a virtual conversation about a portion of Cristina Moretti’s essay “Walking”; a recommendation from EE’s artists in residency, Faune Ybarra. All are welcome; arts and letters are better when they’re shared.

Below you’ll find pages 74-77 as well as a link to the full essay.

In The Gallery Conversation Circle is an opportunity to have a casual, insightful chat about the current artwork featured at the Eastern Edge Gallery and to explore the ideas that shaped its creation. Each event covers a new text of a short and interesting selection recommended by the artist. While we can’t gather in the Gallery for this event as usual, we see this as an opportunity to reach out to broader online audiences that may not have been able to make it to our physical location.

A zoom link will be posted in this Facebook event page 30 minutes prior to the event. Alternatively, we can send the zoom link to your e-mail. Let us know you are interested by emailing us at gallery@easternedge.ca
