Artsy Trivia Night!

Do you love trivia? Do you love supporting local arts and culture?? Come out to Eastern Edge’s Artsy Trivia Night on May 9th, hosted by Clarah Germain! You might know Clarah as the Director of Guest Experience for Germain Hotels, and from her many community and charity endeavours!

As Eastern Edge heads into our 40th anniversary year, we want to quiz you on your arts knowledge!! This trivia night will include questions specifically about the history of Eastern Edge and HOLD FAST Festival, as well as more general art history trivia! Put together a team of your friends, or show up alone and test your knowledge.

This event is a fundraiser for Eastern Edge’s 40th anniversary celebration to come later this year! All funds raised will support fees for performers, musicians, and artists who will participate in our anniversary celebration. 

What you need to know:

  • Trivia will be taking place from 7-10pm on Thursday May 9th in the gallery.
  • Participation will be $5 per person. 
  • Teams can be a maximum of 5 people. You can pre-register your team through the link in our bio, or show up and register at the door.
  • We will have 4 rounds of trivia, with prize packages from local downtown businesses after each round.
  • The winning team at the end of the night will receive the grant prize of a one-night stay at the Alt Hotel and a $25 credit for breakfast at Terre Restaurant!!!

Meet our host, Clarah Germain!

Clarah Germain comes from a long family tradition in the hotel and restaurant industry that started back in the 1950s in Quebec City. Germain Hotels now owns and operates a total of 19 hotels across Canada (Le Germain Hotels, Alt Hotels, and Escad Hotels).

Clarah has always been involved in her community and would find ways to give back wherever she could. While living in Montreal, she was on the board of directors for an organization that feeds kids in need in their school. Over the years, Clarah also worked with charitable organizations dedicated to stopping homelessness and addressing food security. In St. John’s, she was on the board of directors for the St. John’s Board of Trade and has been involved in multiple charity events through the hotel.  For her, being connected with the local community and acting as a good corporate citizen is a must. 

Clarah is now Director of Guest Experience for Germain Hotels, where she helps and guides our teams across Canada in offering guests the best, warmest and kindest possible hotel experience.

Clarah is a well-rounded executive who’s leadership skills have served her well in achieving results, mobilizing her teams, collaborating with partners, or innovating and creating. Above all, strong core values are part of Clarah’s DNA. To top it off, her warm, empathetic and spirited personality have greatly contributed to her success and do reflect a true passion for people and relationship building.
