“Storytelling, yarns, fairy tales, and oral traditions have transformed social and political realities in Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland). For queer and trans people, autoethnography is a practice of truth telling and resistance that finds power within our own stories and agency.

Drawing from feminist theory and arts-based research, in this workshop I will introduce the main components of autoethnography and use creative exercises to guide participants to imagine social, cultural, and artistic changes within their own communities.”
