“My artworks are inspired by women’s struggles, focusing on the pressures caused by societal expectations on women of the past and women of the future due to modern life, especially in some developing countries.
Many grandmothers and mothers recite poems memorized from local poets while weaving on a loom. Through traditional Persian textile patterns that I sew in sanitary pads, I honour that ritual while drawing a material connection. I mention sexual aspects of human life and magnify gender discrimination with censorship. To this aim, I use women’s materials like pads and textiles”
