FREE Remote Beading Workshop with AiR Alex Antle

Join FARR Artist in Residence Alex Antle to learn how to make a moose hide pin, and learn the appliqué beading method. Alex will ship the materials to you in advance, with all costs for the workshop being covered by EE – you only need yourself, and a pair of scissors!

Registration will be open for one week, and close on September 16th at 12 pm NL time. 10 (ten) registrants will then be chosen at random with priority given to self-identifying Indigenous individuals. Visit here to register: https://forms.gle/mQovUM5Tvjf59NnG6

Selected attendees will be notified via email by September 18th, 2020. If you receive a place for this workshop but can not attend, please notify us in advance so that we can plan to send the workshop materials to a waitlisted individual.

About the artist: Alex Antle is a Mi’kmaw beadwork artist from Qapskuk, Ktaqmkuk (Grand Falls, Newfoundland). She has been practicing since 2017 and has always drawn inspiration from the land and water of her home. Alex’s work is also influenced by the relationship between traditional and modern culture in Ktaqmkuk; she uses traditional beading techniques and modern designs to create contemporary Indigenous art.
