Arts for Equity hosted Northern Film Initiative

Eastern Edge gallery hosted 6 indigenous youth artists lead by Inuit Director/ Producer Jessica Brown through ImagineNATIVE film and media festival initiative. The youth explored the gallery space that holds archival art from the First Light show “Walls On Our Stories” and filmed short form documentaries.

Award winning director/ producer Jessica Brown is the founder of Northern Film Initiative, a non- profit organization that aims to elevate  and uplift Indigenous youth in film and tv.

 

Arts for Equity project funded by Heritage Canada aims to give voice to BIPOC artists and shed light on barriers to accessing arts. Through this partnership, we strive to build a community of safe and encouraging involvement in the arts!
