Call for Submissions: Eastern Edge Members’ Exhibition 2024

We are now accepting submissions for our Annual Members’ Exhibition!!! This is your opportunity as a member of Eastern Edge to showcase your work alongside other members of our talented community. We want to see what you have been making!

In celebration of Eastern Edge’s 40th Anniversary, this year’s Members’ Exhibition, ceremoniously titled Lootbag, will also feature a collage wall of images, posters, and printed memorabilia from EE’s past. In true Eastern Edge style, we will be launching our 40th-anniversary exhibition with a full-day party running from noon to 6pm on July 20th with the exhibition opening reception taking place from 6-8pm.

This year, the Members’ Exhibition Silent Auction is back by popular demand! The Silent Auction is a fundraiser which will run throughout the exhibition. Participating artists have the option to put their pieces up for auction, and will receive 50% of the sale price, while the remainder helps support Eastern Edge’s year-round programming.

This exhibition has an open theme – all mediums are welcome! If you are considering presenting new media, video, or kinetic work and require any technical assistance, please contact the gallery in advance to see if we can help accommodate your needs.

Where this show is open to our full membership, we could be showing upwards of 60 artists’ work. For that reason, this year we are limiting the dimensions of submissions to 2 ft in any direction. While this is not a juried exhibition, Eastern Edge reserves the right to decline works that do not meet submission guidelines, are submitted after the deadline, or dropped off without prior arrangement.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Must have an active membership with Eastern Edge
  • Limited to 1 work per member
  • Artwork dimensions must not exceed 2 ft in any direction

To submit work for this year’s Members’ Exhibition, please fill out this Google form!

If you cannot use the Google form you may submit via email to In your email, please include:

  • Name, phone number, address, and membership status
  • Artwork Title, Medium, Year, Dimensions, and any equipment needed for install (eg. plinth, shelf, etc.)
  • 1-3 images of your artwork, or file of video work
  • A starting bid if you are participating in the Silent Auction

Submission deadline: June 21st
Artwork drop-off dates: Tuesday, July 2nd – Saturday, July 6th, 12:00 – 5:00 pm
Exhibition dates: July 20th – August 31st, 2024
Opening Reception: Saturday, July 20th, 6:00 – 8:00 PM

If you require a drop-off time outside of these hours, please contact the gallery in advance, and we will try our best to accommodate you. Work should be delivered ready to display with all necessary hanging materials (magnets, hooks, etc.)

Silent Auction – How it works:

  • Artists will set the “starting bid” for their work.
  • Artworks will be installed in the gallery, and each piece will be assigned a number, which will be on the piece’s label.
  • Numbers will correspond to bidding sheets in a binder kept on the desk at the entrance to the gallery.
  • Anyone who wants to bid on an artwork can write their bid and their contact info on the bidding sheet in the binder.
  • The bidding will continue for the duration of the exhibition.
  • On the last day of the exhibition, EE will host an “auction closing” party in the gallery. This will be everyone’s last chance to bid on their favourite works.
  • At the end of that event, whoever has the highest bid on any given piece will win that artwork.
  • EE will contact the artist and the buyer. 50% of the sale price will go to the artist, and 50% will go to EE.
