EE Studio Launch
The Eastern Edge Team has been hard at work over the past two months transforming the gallery space – again! We have freshly plastered walls, crisp corners, a clean white ceiling, and bright new LED track lights to really showcase the artwork. EE was happy to have the opportunity to employ professional contractors to do what they do best, and we can’t wait to show off their beautiful work!
We are also excited to be launching our new expansion across the hall from the Main Gallery titled EE Studios. This new space will be dedicated to artist residencies and will enable us to effectively triple the amount of visiting artists we program.
We are kicking off EE Studio programming with visiting artist Joshua Vettivelu. Joshua has been hard at work this month creating a large-scale installation in the space, and will also be exhibiting their work titled ‘Surface Tension (or What Holds an ‘Us’ Together)’ in the Main Gallery from April 26th – May 24th, with the opening reception at 7pm immediately following the launch of the new space.
This studio launch is an opportunity for The EE Team to share with you our hard work and successes, as well as preview the incredible talent that EE has programmed for the upcoming 2019/2020 year. We simply could not have done this without the generous investments our funders and community partners have made and continue to make to our growing artist-run centre.
