HOLD FAST 2023: Calling All Writers!

HOLD FAST is accepting applications for a writer-in-residence for our 2023 festival!

As a festival writer, you’ll cover HOLD FAST events, prioritizing the five Featured Artists & their work. Your reflections will be shared on Eastern Edge’s website as part of our post-festival report. The festival writer will be paid $500 for approximately 1000 words.

Responsibilities:

  • In-person attendance at Fancy Artist Talks (evening of Friday, August 25)
  • In-person attendance at Art Crawl (afternoon of Saturday, August 26)
  • 1000-word reflection on HOLD FAST, to be submitted no later than Monday, September 4th

Please send expressions of interest to eeholdfast@gmail.com by Sunday, July 23 and include:

  • 150-word bio
  • 150-word statement of intent
  • Two examples of past work, 500 words or less (PDF files preferred)

HOLD FAST welcomes applications from emerging and self-taught writers. You are welcome (but not obligated!) to self-identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ2SIA+, disabled, femme, or any other community that is important to your identity.
