Sendoff to AiR Susan Furneaux!
May 15-June 23
Susan Furneaux’s residency period at EE Studios has ended – thanks, Susan!
“What a wonderful time it was! Six weeks in the bliss of creation, experimentation and reflection on the concepts of impermanence. I created small 3-dimensional forms with local natural materials and textile techniques. Working with small shapes over a mould allowed me to understand the properties of the materials quickly. The making of pairs reinforced the stitching technique required for the materials.
My head is full of ideas! I am very excited to head to my studio and apply my exploration to larger pieces and new materials and processes. From zine-making to encaustic, I have researched new techniques and rekindled my love for others.
It is invaluable for established artists to explore and learn. A creation opportunity like this keeps work relevant. Many thanks, Eastern Edge, for supporting artists of all career stages. I am heading into my new studio space to spend the rest of my summer creating. Stay in touch!”
