The 24 Hour Art Marathon Festival 2009
This year Eastern Edge Gallery celebrates its 25th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the 24 Hour Art Marathon! Initially a 24 hour live art making event and music, it has grown into a 10 day festival. The festival now reaches farther and wider than it ever has before. It is not only the premiere visual arts festival in St. John’s, but the only one!
This celebration honours the many contemporary forms of artistic disciplines and creates a space where all of these forms of creativity can come together and be open to the public. Drawing in a large number of people the event encourages participation and visibility. It offers the many young and up and coming artists involved a chance to reach a broad audience. With such a great diversity and range of art created during this festival we give the public a wide scope of the art that is happening here, all the time, as well as what is happening on the national and international stage.
