CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS 2020

Open Call for MAIN GALLERY, THE ROGUE GALLERY, & EE STUDIO RESIDENCIES Submissions from artists, collaboratives and curators.

Holding fast to the North Atlantic horizon, Eastern Edge is uniquely positioned to bridge Canadian, Indigenous, and international art communities. We are a hub for community-driven contemporary art, a home for independent creative research, and a haven for underrepresented and marginalized voices. As Newfoundland & Labrador’s oldest artist-run gallery, we are committed to supporting emerging creative practices, challenging the status quo, and building engaged audiences.

Open Call for Main Gallery Submissions

We are delighted to accept proposals from artists, artist collectives, and curators across all media for our Main Gallery. We are interested in proposals for exhibitions, performances and collaborative projects. We are dedicated to cultural diversity in our programming and encourage applications from contemporary artists and curators of diverse communities and backgrounds.

Open Call for The rOGUE Gallery Submissions

The rOGUE Gallery is a 5 × 4-metre space within Eastern Edge dedicated to showcasing work by Eastern Edge members, with a special focus on local practices and works by artists with a connection to Newfoundland and Labrador, artists in the emerging stages of their career, and experimental art practices. We accept applications for exhibitions, performances, concerts, events, screenings, lectures, interventions, curatorial projects/group shows, and other forms of creative expression.

Open Call for Residency Submissions

While our Studio Residency Program is designed to provide a physical space for artists to work on site, virtual residencies will be considered if COVID-19 travel restrictions remain in 2021/2022. Eastern Edge staff will work with artists and remain flexible as we adapt to changing health and safety protocols.
